Celebrating History
National Arab American Heritage Month
While collecting and storing history is important, celebrating that history is equally as critical to keeping our community afloat. As part of this, GAAI is committed to creating spaces where the Arab American contribution can be seen.
In 2023, we started small with a book display of Arab American authors locally at Clayton High School. In 2024, GAAI expanded to a community-wide effort in collaboration with the Missouri History Museum. As a part of their 1904 World’s Fair Exhibit opening weekend, GAAI was invited to set up a table to provide resources on NAAHM to the community. The effort included these handouts, with resources on what NAAHM is and how to support local Arab Americans.
